On this page you will find the various events being offered here at Dowry House, most of which are organised by the Shrine or its partners and some of which are being put together by other people or organisations, but remain open to all. April 2021

Journey through the Easter season by joining the COLW sisters for Wednesday afternoon scripture meditations.

The second of a series of ‘Walsingham Spirituality’ weekends to enable people to enter more deeply into the spirituality of Walsingham, looking at accepting God’s Will when life is difficult, and also at what it means to fulfill his will.

 

June 2021

Join others in learning the art of Lectio Divina so that entering more deeply into the Word of God, our hearts can be filled with the thoughts, desires and sentiments of Christ’s.

July 2021

The third of a series of weekends to enable people enter more deeply into the spirituality of Walsingham, learning in particular what it means to surrender to God’s Will in one’s life and to live a spirituality of thanksgiving for all that God does for us.

Retreatants can participate from the comfort of their homes via zoom or in Dowry House where personal accompaniment from one of the sisters will also be on offer.

Most of us leave our families with a small or large hole in the heart. This we try and fill with experiences, things or people in order to experience the elusive happiness we all yearn for. As we facilitate the healing of this wound we will experience more deeply the infinite love of God for us.

August 2021

Reclaiming Authentic Femininity.
This weekend retreat will provide an introduction to the St. John Paul II’s teachings on Theology of the Body as it was presented during the Wednesday audiences in Rome, in the light of how it can help women to discover their authentic femininity.

September 2021

The forth in a series of retreats on Walsingham Spirituality and discovering from Mary herself how to receive and live the gift of the Divine Will with a spirit of thanksgiving so central to the message of Walsingham.

Retreatants can participate from the comfort of their homes via zoom or in Dowry House where personal accompaniment from one of the sisters will also be on offer.

October 2021

A fortnightly formation course for young adults aged 18-30 on the new-evangelisation starting in mid March.

A weekend Retreat for University Students and any young adults aged 18-35 who wish to grow in self-knowledge before God the Father.

Experiencing his love in the reality of our being, we open ourselves to developing healthy psycho-sexual relationships, learning to receive and give love in a chaste manner and according to our particular state in life.

Enter into the beauty of Carmelite Spirituality with Fr Matt Blake OCD, an experienced retreat giver and Carmelite friar. Carmelite spirituality is Christian spirituality – not an idiosyncratic or esoteric spirituality. As such, contrary to some popular misconceptions, it is not reserved to a select group within the Church or to a spiritually elite, but is accessible to all whom the Spirit calls to follow this way. As a Christian spirituality, Carmelite spirituality is a way of following Jesus Christ and walking the path of the gospel.

A weekend introducing the concept of living in the Divine Will. As a foundation to prepare for this retreat we recommend that participants have already attended the Walsingham Spirituality series of retreats.

December 2021

These days are open to anyone who wishes to experience an IGR (Individually Guided Retreat) with an experienced spiritual guide as part of their Advent journey towards Christmas.
